Studio Passive is based in Totnes, Devon and was initiated by Avi Nir.

Avi has over 15 years experience in the world of construction and design. Initially working with rennovations and tiny homes, Avi became more interested in a sustainable approach to building and moved into Passivhaus construction. From there, connecting back into an education in architecture, Avi trained with the Passivhaus Institute to become a Passivhaus Consultant.

Avi has built up a collaborative network of expertise within Devon in the fields of design, planning and construction. Depending on the needs of the project, Avi will build a specialised team.

Between this team and the client, Studio Passive strives for:

Transparency and trust between clients and all team members.

A commitment to building the right way, minimising the impact of the build upon the environment as well as ensuring minimal waste in terms of time and materials (and therefore cost).

Aiming for the highest standards of Passivhaus construction, using materials that are natural, where possible local, and biodegradable - the goal is for 95% of the build materials to be able to return to the earth or be recycled.
